A wedding ceremony that truly reflects the couple is one that is unique and memorable. When I meet a couple I always ask them to share their reasons for falling in love with each other. My role at this point is to listen carefully. Usually that question leads to others such as, “What have you liked and not liked in ceremonies you have attended? What is your concept of an ideal ceremony?”

After the initial complimentary consultation I ask them to think about our meeting and get back to me regarding my services. It is important to me that the couple feels that I am the best fit for what they want. I also need to feel comfortable in working with the couple to create a ceremony that is reflective of them.

Years ago I attended a wedding where I did not know the couple. I was invited to accompany one of the guests. When the service was over I felt I knew this couple and the reasons they chose to marry. I was so impressed by the officiant that I knew that would be my goal in working with couples. At the end of the ceremony it is important that your guests know who your are and what it is about each other that brought you to this day.

Ceremonies are not limited to just weddings. They are often used to celebrate other occasions in our lives. They can be meaningful and memorable and add a dimension honoring all of life’s transitions.

You can celebrate any of life’s passages with a specially designed and creative ceremony. These can include commitment ceremonies, renewal of marriage vows, blessing of a new home, welcoming a new baby into a community of family and friends, significant birthdays and retirement. These are just a few examples of various types of ceremonies. I've created and officiated at baby blessings, bridal showers, house blessings and celebration of life ceremonies. In addition, I have planned my own special ceremonies around a significant birthday event and various life transitions. I enjoy the process of creating these ceremonies as much as I enjoy weddings.

If you are interested in a particular kind of ceremony please contact me and we can talk about what you need or want. Fees are variable based upon the type of ceremony and whether or not I am officiating. I offer a complimentary consultation as I do for wedding couples.

Once you have decided to work with me, I request a deposit towards the base fee. My base fee includes all planning, meetings, emails, phone calls, time preparing the ceremony, officiating, presence at the rehearsal if on the day of the ceremony and the filing of all paperwork. If the ceremony is outside the general Seattle/Eastside area, there may be a minimal surcharge.
